Any ideas why Sky Sports have sort of stopped funding boxing? First Eddie Hearn leaving and then Ben Shalom leak. And what happened to Adam Smith?
A leaked recording of Shalom talking to Billy Joe Saunders emerged where Shalom can be heard slating Sky. Says they (Sky) f'd him over or something like that.
That was last year wasn't it? surely if there was any issues with ben and sky then boxxer wouldn't still be the promoters ?
Maybe it was from last year but if it was I don't remember hearing it then. It seems to be doing the rounds now though as I saw it on twitter yesterday. If it's a fresh leak Sky wouldn't have had time to sack boxxer and announce the sacking yet.
I like BJS as a boxer but why would anyone trust him with these kind of discussions ? He seems the type to pass off anything he does as banter but if it happened to him would be fuming
Saunders is a rat lol. He should be blackballed for leaking a private conversation like that. It's a shame he couldn't take his deserved beating for longer than a round.
PPV plays a big role in their boxing product and without it they are struggling. The problem is Boxxer have no real PPV stars. Or not even Whyte/Chisora types who sell a decent amount of PPV's with right promotion. Now that Taylor vs Catterall is postponed (and it shouldn't be a PPV anyways) I can see them entertaining the idea of putting Marshall vs Shields 2 or Okolie vs Riakporhe as PPV's. Or maybe fast-track Adam Azim to become a "PPV name". And no one would buy those.
No it didn't at all. Maybe a couple of certain posters but if you generalise like that then fair enough.
Enjoyed the boxing at weekend. Have to say though BT has been the main source of my boxing viewing the last few years Frank has certainly been back on top
