It's not over for him he can still make for really good fights at 135. I'd love to see him fight Cruz Jojo Diaz or rollie
He’s a fringe contender type and that’s okay. He should come back to the U.S. tho because I think he got in his own head some. Quality fighter who is a step below championship level but can make some solid 6 figure paydays.
Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Teofimo's vile weight bully ass get humiliated and humbled but he is super talented and he should never have lost that fight. The fact that Kambosos won his previous two fights via SD, against an old shot inactive Mickey Bey who'd only fought once in 3.5 years against a bum, and past prime career 126 pounder Selby, surely played a big part in that overconfidence
George and his team got overconfident. They forgot about the little things. Teofimo could've finished George, but he let him off the hook.
He deserves credit for the win and the heart he displayed but like I said sometimes you can just be in the right place at the right time and your best night can coincide with your opponent's worst one and that's clearly what happened here. Kambosos fought like a man possessed that night. But Teofimo only has himself to blame. The problems in his personal life at the time were bad luck as was contracting covid, though.
Haney is a 154er who boils down to 135 for size and weight advantages. Ain't too impressed with the Weight Bully. But GK is still a tough out for anybody. Haney won almost all rounds, but he was in a fight.
Retirement hopefully. C level fighter who is a nice enough guy but has officially moved to gatekeeper. He will probably get a few bucks to get beat by young guns looking to pad their resumes but that’s it. Look for Tank to call him out next.
