The defense against a jab depends on if you are a pressure fighter or not. If you are a pressure figfhter the best defense against a jab, imho, is to jab the jab strategy. You both get hit by a jab, but yours will hurt more (or at least it should because that's your style) and he will eventually decide that he will jab no more. GG is a good example of this.

If you are not the pressure fighter, then it's not so simple. And depends on a freaking amount of things, starting by who has the highest reach. But anyway, at your level (I assume amateur) just a simple high guard would make the job 99% of the time.

Head movement, good foot work and control the distance.

A jab at the same time, timed well will land vast majority of the time. Parry, block, slip, lean back etc all meaningful but depends on the opponent, situation etc.

    This.

Bhop sacrificed his jab to Pary Winky's jab. He had no plan B after that. Well also Hop's rough-house tactics.

Parry and a stiff jab simultaneosly, but the timing has to be perfect. Really makes you hesitate with the jab when it works.. GGG and Canelo come to mind.

Stepping back or stepping in with a high guard up requires less skill than parrying. Pull back counter if they're doubling up the jab. It's all timing I guess.

If a guy is jabbing you...or attempting to jab you...a really good defense is to knock him out. Then he will stop it.

A lot of head movement, moving your feet to keep distance and parrying.

Slip or parry, and counter with multiple jabs
