Barerra was in England recently saying that he wants a title fight this year, he feels there are plenty of world champions in the lightweight and light-welterweight division that he would have the beating of, who would you guys put him in with ?

Ricky Burns - WBO Lightweight Champion
Miguel Vasquez - IBF Lightweight Champion
Brandon Rios/Yuriorkis Gamboa - WBA Lightweight Champion
Antonio DeMarco - WBC Lightweight Champion

Lamont Peterson - WBA and IBF Light-Welterweight Champion
Erik Morales - WBC Light-Welterweight Champion
Timothy Bradley - WBO Light-Welterweight Champion (Most likely to be vacated)

A fourth fight with Erik Morales is the most likely option and would be a huge event, I doubt the winner of Peterson-Khan II will be keen to take him on, Khan having used Barerra as a stepping stone already also a fight with Brandon Rios and Barerra would be brutul to watch at this stage of MAB's career.

Does he really have a chance against any of them though ?

  2. Only Erik realistically.

The others are just too big and fresh for a man with nearly 80 fights, and last looked good five years ago against Marquez.

This, but I'd still fancy El Terrible at this stage. Seeing as Barrera got the better of their series, I hope it doesn't happen. Would **** my rankings over!

I think he stands somewhat of a chance against Demarco depending on which Barrera shows up on the night, Morales 4 would be a good send off for both fighters

It goes without saying Barrera is washed up. He doesn't beat any of them.

There is some deep seated psychological baggage between Morales and Barrera so that fight could throw up anything but Morales must be a good favourite.

Depends on what he has left in the tank, if they layoff has done any good for him and whether he can muster p one last great performance.

Remember Morales was laughed out of town when he made his comeback and has had a pretty decent final run of his career.

Personally after watching his last couple of fights I don't pick him over any but he could cause an upset over Burns, DeMarco, vasquez or Morales if they take him lightly and he can pull out another big performance.
