What 3 fights between 168 and 175 would you have liked to have seen joe calzaghe in?

Its pointless saying Ottke or Beyer because they blatently, like Hopkins in 01-02 didnt wantb to fight Calzaghe,
So I'll say its a shame Tate pulled out causing the Pudwill fight to happen and a shame Echoles pulled out causing the McIntyre fight to happen

What was your scorecards for those fights, im sure no one thinks Hopkins got blasted they were tight fights. 116 -112 Hopkins in the first fight, the second fight was closer.

But obviously I can also come up with a load of fighters Hopkins could have faced but it wont really make BHops resume look any shitter. If the thread comes up who did I want to see Hopkins fight, prime Calzaghe would be on that list, but all those would still remain mythical.

 

Ottke didnt want it, but im sure that was a fight most fans such as yourself wanted to see as the thread question says.

Realise this aint a calzaghe bashing thread, but just some MYTHICAL match ups that would have been fan friendly and fights you WANTED to see.

Your defense mechanism to try and defend Calzaghe everytime he is mentioned should be used only when Calzaghe is being unfairley judged, anyway lay of the boxrec son.

Tate and Echoles would have also been good tests aswell.

the thing is, you think Calzaghe would beat Fighter B, because he beat Fighter A who beat fighter B, that is a flawed logic which has its roots in boxrec.

Say why you think Calzaghe beats Fighter B, and weigh up the flaws and strengths to come to a more logical conclusion, and this only comes from watching fights, and also getting into a few fights to learn from this sport.

Thats why my advice to you was lay of the boxrec son, and start getting into fights and watching fights not as a drunken fan but as a student of the game then your analysis should increase logically.
