    Jones/Ruiz
    Mayweather/De La Hoya
    Calzaghe/Lacy
    Lewis/Tua
    Hopkins/De La Hoya

If I thought about it longer, I could have probably come up with some to replace a few on this list. Notice a few of these fights turned out to not live up to the expectations but I was definitely excited before each of them happened. :good

Lewis Ruddock was 1993 (I think) I was there at Earls court. My first live boxing event. I seem to remember Meldrick Taylor was upset by A bloke called Espano on the undercard, or something like that.

In terms of anticipation and result, that has to be my favourite fight ever.

When Lewis kD'd Ruddock at the end of the first and the crowd went mental I just about shot my load. I've never experienced atmosphere like that since and I've been to about 10 big boxing shows and loads of other events (Rugby union internationals, Football, UFC etc)

But that was one very special night. It's not on my list purley as it was more than 10 years ago, but as it was my first fight (plus I thought Lennox was the man but was worried about Ruddock) then it would have been No1.

    In no particular order:
    - EM vs. MAB III (Rubbermatch to settle the trilogy)
    - PBF vs. DLH (Didn't live up to the hype but had me excited)
    - Marquez vs. Vasquez
    - Tyson vs. Lewis
    - Corrales vs. Castillo II (Wasn't as good as the first)

Tyson v Berbick.. I was following Mikes rise and in two years he was 20 years and a handful of months old and challenging for the richest prize in sport.. Trevor was respected and i still dont think Berbick had a clue what he was in for.. Mike showed that he was the boss, a boy in a mans body.. the start of a very poignant era in modern boxing..

Tyson v Spinks... just a curious one.. there was always at the back of my mind , what if like always Spinks finds a way to win.. he always seemed to ..

Tyson v Holyfield... I was completely sold on Mike dominating Evander and i was on a one track way of thinking .. BUT.. I was leaving the small trailer that Don and Carl KIng had set up behind the MGM on weigh in night, i ran into Lou Savarese and Henry Akinwande,, I just made polite chit chat .. " how u think its gonna go fellers ??" expecting the usual .MIkes gonna kill himm.. BUT !!! Both men grinned and said positively .. " Evander is going to show the world how easy Mike is to beat.." i said , you for real.. By this time Mike Grant was there too.. " They all seemed to be so supremely confident on Evander winnng , i bet 20 dollars .. still doubtful.. The rest is history..

Akinwande v Zolkin too and Moorer v Botha... plus a zillionth defence of Ricardo lopez's title and Christy Martin doing that female thang.. she thrashed some southern gal from Georgia named Bethany Payne in either 1 or 2.. great memories..
