That's what happens when someone with 500 fights goes in the ring with someone that has been in a gym for 5minutes.
if you look at his fight with Willie Casey he hit him with a body that mostly nobody saw, instantly Casey was OUT.
His opponent didn't even see the punch coming. Didn't brace for it at all. That hit all internal organ.
I like Rigo. May not have a fan friendly style, but when he lets his hands go, he's pretty explosive. I'd love to see what kind of effort he'd put up against Donaire.
I'd agree that he has the skills to be great, but like many of the other highly-touted Cuban amateurs turned pro, he lands a few punches early in each round and then runs. This was a nice KO, but it's against a weak opponent. When he fought Ricardo Cordoba (37-2-2) last November, Rigondeaux put on his track shoes. It was a terrible fight to watch, and the crowd at Cowboys Stadium was booing the whole way through. Until he becomes more fan friendly and takes some chances, he won't ever make it big. I'm not saying he has to come forward throwing bombs with his hands down, but he has to put together more combinations and learn to control range without running.
