I thought it was a good fight. Rigo would not have won had he fought an exciting fight, and no one would remember him.

Didn't know that running from Donaire at times was called "Skilled".

I enjoyed the clinic by Rigo but was a little dissapointed that Nonito waited ti'll the 10th to really push the action and force the issue.

Nonito needed to be more aggressive and take risks to try and lure Rigo into making mistakes, but he just did'nt do enough of that.

Donaire would have gotten himself TKOed had he pushed more.

In fact, he'd have been better off not pushing at all, but Rigondeaux did wonders to force the counterpuncher to come forward with that jab of his and with his constant showboating. It was awesome!!!:happy

He didn't run from Donaire, running is something you do when you aren't in control. He executed the 'hit and don't be hit' philosophy perfectly. His movement was great, took away Donaire's offense and set up his own counter shots.

Rigo controlled everything. Nonito couldn't make a move without being countered. Even in that exchange in round 4, it looked like Nonito was getting to Rigo and Rigo just lands a left hand which had to hurt Nonito. Before that the straight lefts by Rigo were not having much affect, but in that exchange they did. I seem to recall he landed a nice body punch in that exchange also. Rigo is fast. Reminded me a little of Pernell with straighter harder punches. I have to say this but Zab Judah should watch Rigo and see if he can learn from what he did in his fight with Garcia. I know Zab can beat Garcia if he watches the feet and uses his jab and doesn't get in exchanges. I know no one gives Zab a chance. I do.

Forcing the issue may very well have gotten Nonito stopped, but in the face of losing just about every round, I dont think he had much of a choice if winning mattered at all cost to him.

Somebody mentioned in this forum earlier that this fight reminded him of the clinic Hopkins bestowed upon Felix Trinidad.
I think thats accurate, with the difference that Trinidad had the balls to force the issue and take chances, knowing he was losing the fight.

Force the action by seeking the KO or get KO'd in the process.
I have much respect for the fighter that takes the risk and goes for it.

If the Zab who fought Matthysse shows up against Garcia it's over, Danny isn't good enough to find hit that Zab.

    I'm surprised at you JM.
I know you like the old Mexican style but that was a masterful tactical display with all the elements that hardcore fans should be able to enjoy.

Real cash, vcash and a fabulous display from Rigo.

    :D:cheers
