Well, you have to consider that this is a small country. And, we've produced the likes of Bob Fitzsimmons, Randy Turpin, Jimmy Wilde, Kid Lewis, Lennox Lewis, as well as urm...inventing the sport that you're posting about. So, we do have some pedigree, and to answer your question - beating the consensus p4p best boxer in the world would be fairly impressive, although greatest British boxer of all time is for the historians to decide.

    You dumb ****head.

Does the Marquis of Queensbery mean anything to you?? The originator of modern boxing.

Gem Mace? The originator of the modern boxing style.

And you question our boxing HISTORY, twat.

History did exist before a 100 years ago you ignorant spazoid.

Lennox Lewis is the greatest British boxer of all time. 3 time WBC world heavyweight champion.

Hell, Calzaghe is better then Hatton.

Is it cuz he's white and english? Come on, you can tell us. :thumbsup

I'm English but I dont have any patriotic loyalties and I dont think anyone should in this sport. Boxing is not that kind of sport , a pugilist fights for himself and no1 else. Not like a fpptball team who represent a team/country. Boxers have to say the patriotic stuff to get fans to watch. Brits are too patriotic in boxing , Americans are too patriotic aswell. Fans should just want to watch a great fight and want the greater fighter to emerge as the winner.

Latinos are very patriotic in boxing but I dont mind that because its beautifull how the fighters have that relatianship with their fans !

Seriously , this patriotism is ridiculous.

Saying he is greatest British fighter of all time is pretty silly, but he is pretty ****ing close. And to question the boxing history of a tiny little island who not only invented boxing (as well as pretty much every other ****ing sport), but has produced such greats such as Wilde, Turpin, Ted Lewis, Nigel Benn, and Lennox Lewis, as well as countless others. And Britain, you ****ing moron is about the size of a small US state. Can you think of any state in the USA which has produced more ATG's than our little island? Dickface.

Why are there so many posts regarding UK vs USA?

This is boxing, doesn't matter where the **** they are from really. Or is there resentment from a lot of Americans that there is only one elite USA fighter out there at the moment?

I agree. I hate it. A good portion of my favorite boxers, werent and arent Americans. Lennox Lewis was definitely my favorite heavy of the last decade.

Sorry, not to offend, but I think the Brits have brought that into boxing. Only recently, but you can see it and hear it in the stadiums.

Well, if he was black and american he couldn't qualify as the greatest british boxer of all time could he?

And no, Lennox was not the greatest british boxer of all time - the greatest heavyweight - yes (although Fitzsimmons (heard of him?) won titles at middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight). But then I guess that boxing pre-1995 doesn't interest you.

You're right , so annoying . Atmospheres are great in stadiums , but when you just wanna have a good conversation with someone about boxing and all they can talk about is that so and so will be the greatest BRITISH (or whatever country) fighter ever its just annoying .

Really good to know someone agrees with me about patriorism in boxing.

My state Michigan. 9,000,000 people. Thomas Hearns, Joe Lewis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Pinklon Thomas, and of course, Floyd Mayweather.

    Tiny island? Puerto Rico? Cuba?

Jimmy Wilde was the best Brit ever, IMHO, though Lennox aint far behind. His resume is awesome when you compare it to most of the guys around today.
