That was an action packed fight! Lopez was winning on the score cards but even though salido got kd in the 5th round, he kept coming forward and hurting Lopez. Congrats to salido! Don't know what's next for Lopez but I guess he was a bit over hyped. This is why I love watching boxing because of fights like this. What's next for Lopez? Thoughts?
In my opinion though, Lopez should take a year off and see if he still wants to fight but if not, he should just retire and not take anymore punishments.
I would rather have more BRAINS then HEART (PRIDE)...he now has 2 ko losses on his record. The smartest fighters will be the last ones standing...Mayweather, Ward, Hopkins, Klitschko's, Marquez.
Given how Lopez ballons in weight, a year off seems like a bad idea to me. Change it up, have him fight small fights regularly, so he stays in shape and works on the holes in his game. Moving up to Lightweight seems like a horrible idea due to his chin.
Unlike the other 4 Marquez actually had Classics wars. Watch Marquez vs Diaz 1 Marquez vs Katsidis Marquez vs Barrera Marquez vs Pacquiao 1 Marquez vs Pacquiao 2 5 action packed battles, Marquez can do it all. Marquez has in similar fights like the Lopez vs Salido 2 fights, were he's on the ropes dominating, JUST LIKE Salido was on those last rounds. Watch those fights, I don't think Marquez fits among your list of fighters with no classics for the ages(for the exception of the Lewis fight).
No man Salido was clearly winning on the scorecards, My score card 1 Even 2 OS 3 OS 4 OS 5 JML (10-9) 6 OS 7 OS 8 OS 9 OS 7 For Salido 1 for Lopez 1 even
I agree with having more brains than heart. Everyone in boxing gets punched. That stupid expression about hit and don't get hit is a falcity made up by fighters who can't take a punch. Bull****, everyone gets hit. The thing is to not make a plan of it.
Too much heart not enough boxing ..I mean what the hell is going on ? He looked sloppy in there ..He looked stringer but fought like a novice in there ..The problem that plagues boxing ,too much strength not enough technique !
yeah props to Lopez. I was proud to see him come out in the 8th to come and press the action vs Salido. He was down on all the real scorecards and he went and tried to get him out of there. Now looking back, turns out he shouldn't have done that since the judges were on his side, but props to him
