Romanov is not the monster that some people think and if he was to fight Earl again we would get the same result, Thaxton would win by ko.
It was only the ropes stopping Lawton from hitting the deck, so really the ref should have given a count. No complaints really though, Lawton had not come to fight and didn't really offer any kind of challenge. Not surprising really considering he was coming off a stoppage loss. I don't believe any real boxing fan has succumbed to the Amir Khan hype.
I don't get why all you people seem to hate amir kahn he is a talented guy and is improving all the time, give him a few more fights and i think he will be ready for a european title shot. It's the same with half of the british fighters we just get people trying to bring them down, if most of you had a 10th of amir kahn's talent you would be pleased so why do you want a young talented british fighter to lose ????????
Romanov would stop Earl if he fought him again , and that's what he probably would of done in the first fight had he'd been active . Max I'm aware you normally don't see that many of the Sky bills but did see Thaxton's fight last night which is why I assume you think Earl would have a better chance but Jon was poor last night and fought much better against Meager and Lawton . But I'd still give last nights Thaxton a better chance anyway just down to styles , power and imo Thaxton taking a better shot than Earl(which is an important factor in beating Khan as he seems to have a decent punch on him) .
I've seen all the sky bills lately, my pops now has all the channels so I watch them now. Thaxton's hooks are too wild to barely land on Khan, they were nearly as bad as Buster Keeton's against Hobson. Thaxton would be eating shots as he does that head movement with only one hand up. Khan tries to flurry Earl on the ropes and Earl might land like he did on Katsidis. Limond's shots were more accurate than Thaxton's, thats why he was having sucess when he dropped Khan.
Khan had loads of support in the Olympics, but back then he was a respectful, humble kid. Now he's turned pro and put a string of wins together he thinks he can shoot his mouth off, and it does not suit him. I don't think people dislike Khan, but lot of people would like to see him beaten, if only so he can learn a bit of respect. And to see the look on Frank Warren's face.
Why does he need to learn respect, i don't get what people are going on about, he seems fine to me, it's not like he's turning into the next hamed in those terms. I think people are just hating on him for no good reason, people like thaxton etc can say what they like but when kahn says something half of you lot go on about how arrogant he is. I doubt if you met him you would think he was arrogant, he seems like a nice guy to me. In regards to people like naz and eubank they where both very arrogant before they had any successand he isn't exactly like that is he?
He seems like a nice kid to me. I'd guess fighting for Warren is causing at least some of this ill-feeling amongst hardcore boxing fans?
He does seem to be a nice lad, but he has been talking some rubbish recently. After getting put down and nearly out by Limond he claimed he could beat Floyd Mayweather. That kind of garbage is bound to attract scorn.
i cant belive how crap that oppenent was - i would do a better job than that joke & ive never boxed!!!
