No he said he could fight mayweather or any other top fighter over 4 rounds, which is pretty much saying he could spar with floyd and not look foolish. Also mayweather and many other fighters talk abit of **** and it hasn't done him that much harm is it as p4p number 1 and modern great.

Are you referring to the Mayweather claim? Somebody here posted a link to the interview where he claimed he could get the better of him over 4 rounds.

He had limited ways of winning, he can't punch so his only hope was to take the fight into the latter rounds. He failed to do that but that doesn't make him crap.

Not a totally ridicoulous claim given Floyds punch output/ activity levels these days.;)

Anyhoo, you never said anything a bit daft when you were 21?:D

Sorry to join the debate so late, but im just back from my friends house.(yes, I have a friend;) )

Anyway, when the fight was stopped I was shaking my head in disbelief, & moaning about what a shitty stoppage it was. Then, when they showed the replays afterwards I had to admit I was wrong, cos from different angles you could see it was actually a good stoppage.

from the angle I seen it from first it was kinda side on, & Khans uppercuts looked as though they were being blocked on lawtons gloves, & Lawton even threw a left hook back. From the replays though, every uppercut was in fact landing, & when Lawton threw his left back, he was tagged again, & then Khan steamed into him some more, forcing the ref to save Lawton.

BTW, I would just like to say how good did Khan look? I thought he was excellent. I mean Lawton is no mug, but Khan simply blew him away.

For a relative novice, Khan is building a great looking record, & hes only going to get better! I have always said khan will win a world title at least much to the scorn of many, but if Khan keeps blowing away opponents like this at a young age, its frightening to think how good this lad will become in the future.

Dare I say it, a future superstar of the sport perhaps?

There's no doubt he has a lot of raw talent and speed. He showed some composure tonight which is a further step in the right direction for him. But he's still got a fragile little beard, that, just cannot be improved. That little Scotch guy proved that last time.

I don't hate or even dislike him, and if he was fighting for a major title against an overseas fighter then I would actually be rooting for him.
As it is at the moment though, he has a dodgy chin, is over confident and is over hyped. That's usually enough for people to want to see a fighter beat.

To be honest, Im not with the vast majority of people who think he has a glass jaw. Limond hit him with some great shots before during & after the knockdown. As khan said himself, sometimes you get caught & go down, thats boxing! & I agree with him. Its about what you show when you get hit & hurt that counts. I wouldnt say hes got a chin like scrap iron Ryan, now THAT was a glass jaw!

I warned people here that Limond was a dangerous opponent for Khan beforehand, that was the fight that would make or break Khan. It so nearly broke him, but he pulled through & it made him, as he said himself tonight.

    ****, I need to have a lie down, I sound like a Khan fanboy:lol:

But seriously though folks, I speak about Khan as a neutral who couldnt give a **** if he wins or gets beat unless hes fighting a scotsman of course;) , Im just giving an honest assesment of the guy as a fighter. & so far? He looks like the real deal IMO. Just look at some of the names on his record already, then have a look at his age & how long he has been a pro, its impressive no matter what spin anyone puts on it.

He's probably had too many Tennents tonight to know the difference himself! Or is it Skol up there?

Sometimes it's easier to take one big shot from a puncher than two or three from a light puncher. He just got hit by a couple of good shots in quick succession and went down. As Dunky says, it happens....
