Thats the problem with officiating in boxing, they're consistantly inconsistant

 

If the ref doesn't recognize it and reports it and the fighter doesn't wanna fight anymore then its ruled a tko....just bad luck for rock hewas dealing with a sucky ref.

 

Damit, if there was a fight that could make the HW division look any worse than this was it. Toney had him noodlelegged and everything.
Let's just hope no one gives Hasim another fight for pulling that ***** ****. I've had bigger cuts from shaving.

 

Blame Rahman I've seen much worse cuts Toney was turning it up he knew it and quit period.

 

the ref did recognize it...he made the headbutt signal to the judges if i recall

lastly rock didnt say he couldnt go on.... he just said he couldnt see

the doc then told the ref to stop the fight..rock never said stop the fight....

he only let the doctor stop the fight because he knew that according to the rules it would be a no contest. Obviously if he thought they would rule it a TKO3 for Toney he would have said the cut was fine.

Bingo. And that's exactly why Rahman QUIT. He thought they were gonna let him out of it with a NC, but they gave him a TKO. Serves him right.

 

Rahman wasn't given the chance to quit. The doctor did it for him. I'd be willing to bet that if the doctor hadn't stopped the fight, Rahman would have bitched and moaned but would have kept fighting. He probably would have lost anyway, but there's no doubt that the headbutt did more damage than all of Toney's punches combined (and no, I'm not talking about the cut - it was just a viscious headbutt, every bit as hard as the one that set up the Torres KO).

 

Rahman didn't want to continue he could have easily. James Toney had a much worse cut than Rahman in his fight against Tim Littles like in 1994.they said they were gonna stop the fight Toney said **** THAT one more round. He told everybody str8 up he wanted to continue and went out and knocked Littles out. JT is a real fighter Rahman got what he deserves.

 

I thought it was going to be an entertaining fight...instead it was anything but. I'm very disappointed.
