What a Pathetic fighter

Guy may not be a good fighter, but he deserves props for stepping inside the ring 52 times. And he usually gives guys rounds at the very least even if he doesn't always go the distance. So, he's not exactly Eric Crumble.

 

You call it as you see it, and they're entitled to do the same. As you yourself said, this is an open forum.

 

Personally I respect allmost all fighters, esp this one.

 

Calling him pathetic is though.

I get your not meaning he is pathetic, hes just not very good, thats fair enough but pathetic is too far.

 

To me "pathetic" means sad, this fellow is heroic not sad!

 

Let's not go over the top with it.

 

How on earth is he "heroic" ?

By participating in a profession that he's clearly not at all good at ?
By failing to register a winning result after 10 years professional and 50+ fights experience ?

If he was a totally incompetent carpenter, plumber, electrician, salesman, hairdresser or anything else, who continually failed, he'd be given no big respect.

I absolutely admire anyone who keep plugging away and giving their best, but I dont even know if he is one. He's clearly not the worst, but it's a stretch to believe he must be an honest and top-effort performer.

And besides he's a professional. If you're going to have boxing as a profession of any sort, ie. get paid, you should at least be a little more competent that losing 52 fights over 11 years of paid competition.

And anyone who glorifies or romanticizes his losing record is being a bit ridiculous.
People who say men like him are what keep the sport going should realize that's an indictment on Pro boxing, and a real shame. It's a disgrace that he's considered a worthy opponent for anyone in a professional fight. Maybe he's a viable sparring partner, but to sell this man as half of a boxing contest is a ****ing disgrace, to put it bluntly.

This is what boxing calls a professional bum. A fighter who will take a fight for a few hundred dollars to get in the ring whenever his phone rings. A smart manager would avoid a match with a guy like this. Having him on your ledger is not going to help. Quite the opposite.

It would be cool if he was matched vs someone he could beat...if that person is out there as a pro.

 

He isn't incompetant, he isn't a contender or even a decent journeyman, his job is a journeyman who gives young prospects rounds. He is there to showcase prospects, bring them along, build up there record.

For all we know he may have beaten some of these guys and lost the decision because he's the journeyman who's supposed to lose

I'd wager he could beat most people on this board given he has enough to go the distance with 80% of his pro-boxers and most here haven't boxed, at least not competitively

 

The Klits first 20 or so fights were against journeymen, fighters who haven't got as many journeymen on their record are considered inferior

For instance Rocky Marciano is heralded because he has the record 49-0 - how many of those 49 were journeymen - loads of them, but everyone jacks off over the 49 wins
