What a performance by Froch

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by checklefthook, Nov 27, 2010.

  1. Carl Froch fought a perfect fight, throwing a variety of punches to keep the below bar Arthur Abraham on guard.

Got rocked once or twice in the final round but a much improved performance by Froch, finally showed what he can do.

What are you post fight thoughts?

Good performance, but he had a punching bag in front of him.

AA just took a beating without returning anything.

Froch has skill though, I always underrated him I guess.

It looks like he mocked AA before the fight for a reason. He figured him out and executed a plan. Abraham as bully has trouble with boxers.. He looked so easy to neutralize..

PS This site is ****ing dead on big night fights. I've been waiting like 15 minutes to get onto this thread.

    I'm amazed. A total shut-out!
And I'm one of those who had Abraham by KO (in the 10th). I'll be the first one to admit it:
    * Carl Froch is a better boxer, technically, than I thought.
    * Arthur Abraham is even more two-dimensional than I thought.
    * Arthur Abraham does NOT possess the awesome power that he had at middleweight.

Hats off to Carl Froch. I normally call 9 out of 10 fights, but I was waaaaaayyyy off, and I believe this victory should catapult Carl Froch to the top three (or five) in the Super Middleweight rankings.
I will say this: Everybody knows that Arthur Abraham is a tank... but some of us just forgot to ask what kind of tank he is.

    Congrats, Carl!

It was such a great fight to watch, deffo a case of Boxer vs fighter. Good punch variation and accuracy, superb body shots and a kick ass jab from Froch.

I am a fan of Arthur but he looked limited tonight due to Carl's well executed tactics... the guy can sure take a beating tho!

Carl made AA look totally ordinary. Huge respect to him.

Superb performance, a clinic really. A lot of people will say Abraham was nothing now, but he was a dangerous puncher who remained a threat til the final bell, as the last round showed. An outstanding victory for Froch.

A great performance from Froch, but an equally unimpressive performance from Arthur.

He showed in the last round that he could trouble Froch, but for whatever reason, he just opted to act as a punching bag for the most part. I know he is a little one-dimensional and had obvious difficulty getting past Froch's jab, but he could've at least showed some initiative and, in doing so, made some attempts to get forward and pressure Carl.

i did predict froch would tko him in 10 i almost thought he was going to aswell when aa nearly got folded in half by that left hook to the body but i in no way thought froch would hand out such a 1 sided beat down i am very pleased to say the least

Froch is more skilled than many on this board think or maybe past tense thought. Still lets see if he keeps getting hated on.

He was trying, bottom line is Froch was too good for him, whenever Abraham opened up he ate a jab, or a jab and right hand, and taking body shots too, that's what slowed him. The variety of punching and movement, neutralized Abraham. Abraham fought how Abraham fights but Carl just didn't let Abraham get in to the fight at all. Punches were coming from all angles. It's not as if Abraham wasn't trying, he did his thing, but as I said, Froch was just that much better.

    That was a total schooling!
