Quite the awful stoppage it was. However, I expect nothing less from British referee Ian John-Lewis, who is famously known for letting Shannon Briggs take a unnecessary and violent beating from Vitali Klitschko for 12 rounds, a beating which sent Briggs to a German hospital for weeks after the fight.
Wow, was that the same referee? He - and Briggs' corner - should have been arrested for letting that fight continue - and Vitali got gypped out of yet another KO too. Briggs is lucky his skull is 3" thick or he'd be dead.
