De La Hoya on points at any weight... maybe he can hurt Mayweather at LW, the category where Floyd had problems (Castillo). It's an easy win on points at SFW, LW, LWW. Mayweather might pull it off at WW though... At LMW it's a close victory for Oscar... Floyd didn't lose much speed moving up in while Oscar became a little bit slower, somehow lost his jab in the process and became flat-footed... still, at his absolute best at LMW, he beats Floyd on points... hell... he came close to it last year (no jab, ring rusty, old, Roach in his corner etc.)!

By the way, my first and last 'Floyd vs. prime...' predictions. (Prime = a fighter's best performance at the given weight class).

Pea was 33 years old and quite clearly on the decline, anyone who saw his previous few fights knew that. He may have been rated high in the P4P rankings, but no way he deserved to be #1 ahead of Roy at that stage, and I'm not sure he was.

Well... let's say I believe that at LW Mosley is unbeatable... If you compare Mosley at LW and Mosley at WW/LMW, the difference is huge... just watch two of his fights from the two parts of his career... At WW and LMW he had to deal with his and his opponents bigger weight, opponents larger size, he lost speed, mobility and power. Of course it's a good argument that he fought the real big names at WW and LMW and not at LW... but watching what he was capable of at LW, is truly stunning...

Hey, I might overrate Mosley's abilities at LW (am I?), but at that weight he looked like the ultimate pro boxer... Of course if you ask me about his HOF status, I feel that Mayweather has already surpassed him, I've always thought that DLH deserves a higher rank but 'prime vs. prime' (and I really don't like doing stuff like this) I have to go with Mosley... TKO because he was not only dominating there but sliced up the competition like it was a cake. You might be able to convince me that he's not stopping Floyd... but if I have to name one fighter from the past 15 years who's able to stop Floyd, it's Mosley at LW...

 

Gotta go with De la Hoya.

PBF didnt beat him as convincingly as I thought he would, (thought it wasnt really close). I think an unbeaten, quicker De La Hoya would outhustle PBF to a hard fought decision.

Mosley was better at WW than at LW in literal terms. He was stronger and even quicker if you actually watch the footage. The difference between the two is that at LW, he was facing C level competition, whereas he was facing top notch competition at WW. He'd have had the same problems at LW with any top notch pure boxer with a strong jab, movement, etc. Plenty of LW's could've beaten him.
