Nobody has mentioned the fact that Danny put a brutal beat down on Granados and looked exceptionally good in doing it. I think he would knock Pac out for sure. Stopping Granados is a feat that has never been accomplished. I know that Granados is not elite but he is a top flight gatekeeper and a would be champion. I think that Danny deserves props for his destruction of him but it's like the fight never happen. Not a buzz on this forum. What's up with that?
I watched it, Granados caught Garcia with a lot of flush punches but didn't have the power to make it count. He was made for Garcia really, not particularly impressed.
He looked good, revitalized. Granted Granados did not look good at all, but Danny really impressed me with his performance.
Garcia lost to Mauricio Herrera, Keith Thurman and had 50-50 bouts with Lamont Peterson and Shawn Porter. Imo he loses to old Pacquiao, Spence and Crawford. Good boxer but just not standout.
He was drained unhealthily against Herrera. He got a gift that night, I agree Herrera deserved it but you can't ignore that he had difficulty cutting weight to make 140. In evaluating how good DSG is now, it really only matters how he looked in his last performance. He looked a lot better this weekend than he did in many of his past fights.
Granados's style was tailor-made tbh. Well done to Garcia for getting him out of there but I don't think it shifts the dial on future opponents. Who does he beat that takes him to the next level? None of the top guys imo.
He has a chance to catch Pac with something, but it's a 40 year old Pacquiao. It's hard to get too excited by Garcia at this point, Thurman & Porter were really the bouts to solidify him at the top of 147. I'd happily watch him against Spence, and I'd pick Spence to win clearly.
Danny will have to wait... Spence has to spank Danny's daddy first, Porter. Which would make Spence Danny's granddad.

Garcia turned down a career high payday a few years ago to face Pacquiao. Guess he thinks he’s beatable now?
