What about Paul Williams vs. Lucian Bute?

    I know people will say Williams is too small but the truth is he's taller then Bute and has over +10" of reach advantage over the Romanian.

    If Pavlik ducks both Williams and Bute. This could be an interesting alternative. It would probably be a lose/lose scenario for Bute tho.

    Win and people will say he beat a blown up welterweight.

    Lose and he'll become an overrated hype job who got exposed by a welterweigth.

    Could make for a very entertaining fight tho.

    Thoughts?

    Like you said lose/lose scenario.

    Take into consideration risk/reward and you don't get anything.

    He's better off fighting Bika again.

    That being said I'd like him to beat up on that defenseless twig.

    Don't be deliberately obtuse regarding the size issue. Height and reach aside, Williams is totally untested at 168, and there are still a lot of question marks surrounding him at 160. There's no reason for him to fight one of top the Super Middleweights at this point in his career.

    Wouldn't shock me to see Williams take this fight. I think it would be a bad idea for him, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

    This is a possibility, especially considering Wiliamsis P4P No.10, but as you saw would
    be to many voices to disclam even in eventuality of a win.
    I`d rather see a Dawson - Bute, that man being P4P No. 9, but this match will not be so soon.

    Bute fight a WW? Williams does not have a 10 inch reach advantage FFS! Wingspan yes. From armpit to end of fist? NO! lol FFS!

    I doubt it even if it were in talks.

    Hopkins is one of Bute's favorite fighters.I always hear him phraize him.

    paul can't face any puncher @ 160 + yet...... i dont think his body is ready for it... those guys up there are to full....

    i wouldnt mind him fighting any light punchers @ 160+

    HEy HEy HEy! Im a Williams fan but lets not jump the gun here remember that he says he can still make Welter. He hasnt only been tested by one faded middleweight and you want to put him in with an elite SM. One fight at a time,hes at least a couple years from filling out to SM.

    After the performance given by Williams against Martinez, he's not ready for 168 and Bute. Better get a title at 154.

    Keep williams away from 168, 160 he is vulnerable......yes, paul is a freak with his height advantage....but he has a frame of a WW or JRMW....he would get put in a body bag by bute....
