in the midst of all the mosley/mayweather **** storm, what do people think about this kid? he's shown that he can overcome adversity and box off the ropes beautifully!! he's definitely one of the top prospects of the game, how far do you think he can go??

the kid looked good, i think they said he was 19 which is frightening because he looks like a top fighter. i think golden boy need to take it easy with him, i don't think he should fight for a title soon because he is so young. maybe in 2 years he should step up against the likes of forbes, quintana and collazo but he is no hurry.

    definatly a future P4P superstar.

That dude ain't Mexican. If Bob Arum signed him, he would make him fight under two different names on his Latin Fury and Irish Brawl cards.

That kid has some promise. To possess those technical skills, ring generalship and heart at this age is impressive.

I was just laughing the entire time that he fought. He is definitely Irish. I was wondering if either he, or his parents were on the lame from Ireland do to some horrible crime.

Crossover POTENTIAL but he's not there yet, I'd give him a full year before taking on the B-level opposition and 2 or more before the big boys. Until then, solid low-level contender opposition would be nice, different styles and strengths, different looks, more sparring experience etc... there's a lot of work to do on the defensive, footwork, rhythm, timing, adaptation etc., but Canelo is already pretty good, that's why he doesn't need tune-ups and bums.

i thought he looked well schooled but something was lacking.Dont know what but something was missing.

At 19 he has plenty of time to make noise.

Boxing skills are good, but still has a lot to learn. Last night was the first time I see him so I am not sure yet about his power. Cotto lasted him a long time and Cotto should have never signed to fight at any weight over 140lbs. He is really a 135lbs guy.

He looks very, very strong! But of course that doesn't always translate to punching power.
