All this talk about the great Joe Calzaghe having another career defining bout, this time against a middleweight !!! What a joke.

Joe Calzaghe may well be a long time world champion but to suggest he's an ATG, best super middleweight ever, a P4P King, etc, etc, etc is a complete farce.

What has Calzaghe achieved to be ranked alongside the greats? Don't say undefeated champion because we could say that about Sven Ottke too! In fact there's very little between Sven Ottke and Joe Calzaghe except that Joe took the next step to travel across the ocean to fight, although that was against a 43 year old who would have destroyed Calzaghe a decade ago.

Calzaghe has been expertly handled, avoiding world class fighters that have great handspeed and agility as their main offensive weapons. In fact it's hard to find that one "career defining fight" in Calzaghe's record (compared to champions such as Hopkins, Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, Dela Hoya, etc) simply because he is yet to have one.

C'mon, step up and tell us about that one great fight that was his defining moment in boxing history, that one super bout against a great opponent that we'll be talking about for generations to come.

    That's right, it don't exist.

THE SIMPLE FACT IS CALZAGHE AVOIDS THE FIGHTERS THAT WILL EXPOSE HIM AS A FRAUD, and has done so he entire career!!!

Forget fighting middleweights or over the hill champions. CALZAGHE NEEDS TO STEP UP AND PROVE HIMSELF, AND THE MAN TO DO THAT WITH IS ANTONIO TARVER !!!

But we all know he'd never go there, don't we.

cant remember reading to many of your posts to know whether you are having a wind up or not .

    ok i will bite
    hopkins took tarver to school.
calzaghe just beat the man who hopkins toyed with.

    tarver is 39
calzaghe gets critisized whatever fight he would take

    pavlik is a middle
    jones is to old
tarver schooled by a 42 year old.

if you are a hater than calzaghe would be in a no win situation with posters such as yourself.

let me guess...you had Lacy destroying Calzaghe just like almost every single one of you Americans did.
how about Hopkins then? Take away a couple of small 'name' fighters and how is his record? How many stiffs did he fight in those 20 defences? How many times is Robert Allen in there?

Everybody knows that Pavlik ( or Chad Dawson) is the one and the only great challenge left for Calzaghe, not Roy Jones Jr, Antonio Tarver or any of the SMW titlists and contenders... Pavlik can go up at 164-168 pounds and make his punching power and workrate be felt so I don't understand what's this small talk about MWs and LHWTS... Joe Calzaghe and Kelly Pavlik can be everything but they are not frauds - frauds are the ones who call them so after all that's been seen and done, this is pretty obvious.

He's making the point that any time anyone moves a weight class, it's easy to knock the guy in the higher weight for fighting a 'smaller' guy.

****, Corrales was 6-1. Doesn't make him bigger than Hagler - and Hearns started at welter too.

Calzaghe is a super middle, Pavlik a middle that's recently fought at 164, so there's really **** all size difference.

    -bronze medal
-starred in the recent Rocky film
    -beat jones twice! TWICE
    -reggie johnson
    -eric harding
    -montell griffin
    -glen johnson
    -clinton woods

i say his resume is impressive and certainly way more impressive than calzaghe's resume at LHW.

Lets not forget LHW, as far as i know, calzaghe has no legitimate belt at LHW, unless you think that ring magazine is a legit belt when it has no sanctioning fees etc.
