Let`s not forget what a slow pace this fight was fought at. Wilder terrified to engage hence being i reverse gear and being outscored by the much smaller guy.
I'm a big Joshua fan and after Saturday's fight I'm less nervous about him facing wilder than I was before it.
That’s fine. We all know Wilder is deeply flawed. But you should also recognize AJ is a slow mediocre boxer with a weak chin. Plus his only win of note was against a thoroughly shot Wlad.
Yes they gave away the 7,000 tickets they had not sold. A lot of the crowd had not come to see Wilder, or Ortiz, they had just been told take these free tickets if you want to see an exciting fight. That is why they booed the first five rounds.
They were booing the early rds but from rd 5 it turned out to be boxing at it's best. Those 2 are not the best boxers but when they fight with so much drama and excitement where they hurt each other and no one knows what is going to happen that's then it becomes boxing at it's best and when boxing is at it's best there is no other sport like it. Most fans expected Wilder with his reach to establish the jab early and box his way to a decision or late stoppage a la Stiverne 1 where showed he can actually box. The reason he did not get the jab going was because Ortiz took it away with his southpaw stance. It troubled Wilder greatly and he was only able to land the jab later in the fight when Ortiz was gassed. It is the reason Wilder looked so terrible and unskilled and had to rely on power to pull off the win. I would not be using his performance in this fight as a gauge on how he will fight AJ. I think he will be more comfortable against AJ than the skilled southpaw Ortiz.
It’s tangential, I guess, to the first post in the thread. But I was responding directly to his post. So maybe you should talk to him also.
And he was initially responding to this post from you which equally had nothing to do with the subject of the thread.
Boo is wilders nickname, gotta be, judging from the rest of his fights. Well thats probably how he sees it!
