he and nunn never fought. amazing competition does not appear out of thin air. he fought most of the big names from 160-175.

I meant Jones not Toney, knowone stops Toney, and yes it could have happened he certainly didnt look the same when he fought Toney,he was tired by the 5th round,he was a big guy, maybe making 160 at that time in his career was really hard for him.

:patschRoy fought Griffen, Hill, Ruiz, and Tarver, all world champs, afterwords, furthermore after beating Ruiz and Tarver the first fight, despite having a tough night with Tarver he gave him a rematch when he didn't have to, the **** people post here is ridiculous.

sorry didnt mean to include Nunns name there,I always felt a prime Nunn was better than a Prime Jones.

Yeh, I don't think it's fair to say Roy didn't have heart. However, I think a fair thing to say would be he was so dominant he didn't really have any opportunities to show he had heart until the first Tarver fight where he had to dig deep (granted, most people mark that fight as the mark where old Roy became old Roy).

So what, its not like Ruiz was the real heavyweight champion a fighter that fought without fighting,it does not erase the facts that he was fighting part time fireman and a whole list of other bums while trying to be a basketball player, what people consider good competiton on here is rediculous like you.:-(

Really you honestly think either Andre could hang with a prime Toney ?

I think its a bit premature to say they are on the level of a prime James Toney with wins over Abrham and Kessler ..

Yes and when a challange was finnaly presented he failed,by being knocked the **** out, when the going got tough he got knocked out, thats just the facts,he may have been great athletically, but he's never showed championship heart,or that he could overcome adversity,he ran his mouth much better than he fought.

He was gonna fight Tito in 01 or 20 when he was unbeaten but Hopkins who would later price himself out with unreasonable demands to avoid getting his ass kicked by roy in 02. Roy moved up to HW to take on Ruiz in afight where he was outweighed by over 30lbs, he later moved back down and took on Tarver. This myth that he avoided challenges is BS.

exactly. dirrell's career defining moment is outboxing a guy who does nothing for 40 minutes.

He could have fought Tyson,Holyfield, and he ducked Hopkins repeatidly, and host of other young prospects from 168-190.
