He brought a fist to a knife fight. Lucky he's from London. If he were in America he'd have been shot dead like Vernon Forrest.
Yea but those guys are masters of their respective arts Even if brook was a master boxer how does that help you block knife attacks ?
[yt]Ggvbt0M3RLU[/yt] Reading this story, I think it's pretty obvious what Kell was doing before he got knifed. Tenerife is known as a gay vacation destination. I think Kell misread a guy and made ***ual advances and ended up being attacked. How else would you explain ditching your wife and running off with a man to some apartment? The video above is most likely exactly how it happened. :deal
Oh, so you were serious. Okay, first off, JCVD and SS are movie stars. Neither is a "master" of any discipline, though both indeed fought in real martial arts tournaments but neither ever distinguished themselves as "masters" Second, the stuff they do in movies to disarm someone with a knife using spin-kicks or judo shoulder-grabs and turn-around moves "using the assailant's own momentum against them" and nonsense like that - pure fiction. No real-life application whatsoever, and you would literally die trying any of that even if you were a master of any particular hand-to-hand discipline. You would have greatly increased chances of dodging an initial attack with a base in traditional boxing as we know it (which includes side-to-side defensive movements including stationary dipping/weaving as well as lateral footwork), and were blessed with quick reflexes on top of the necessary muscle-memory than attempting some martial arts movie bologna. I'm not saying it would be smart to attempt or that you wouldn't most likely die anyway fighting a knife-wielding assailant bare-handed with that base of skill, but you would be comparatively better served and stand far more of a chance of lucking out and landing a quick debilitating one-shot better-get-it-right counter-punch than a freaking Seagal or Van Damme would of disarming their attacker using their feet or a gentle shoulder-tap and spin. :yep
He brought his fist to a coke-fuelled gay orgy, by the sounds of it. I guess a fist is a welcome instrument at such an event. Things turned nasty when he critiqued someone's Louis Vuitton bag.
It doesn't. But despite what you see in the movies, neither do martial arts. If someone comes at with a knife, even if you are Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Mike Tyson or whoever, the best thing you can do is run away. Otherwise you get stabbed.
