Early 20s til about 35. Mid-thirties reflexes and speed begin to slow. Muscle itself starts to slowly decline after 30.

Depends on the fighter. Some start late and peak late, while others start fighting as kids and tend to peak early.

    Really depends.

For a guy like Pac, his physical prime was in the lower weight fights w/ Marquez, Morales, and Barrera. And then you had his run at 140-147 welterweight when he put it all together before KTFO6.

So physical prime and fighting prime?

    Below 126 is 24-29

    126-168 is 26-32

    175-200 is 28-34

    HW is 30-36

Just a general rough estimate here. The higher in weight the older the fighters are in their prime.

It’s not one size fits all

Depends on the weight class, length of amateur career, how much punishment they took in their pro career etc

    Lots of different variables

    This

    I agree.

The mental prime comes later most often compared to the physical prime, which can in some cases lead to confusion as to when a fighters prime actually is.

    Absolute physical prime ?

    23 - 29

    Boxing prime ?

Varies according to when the dude begins boxing, his other life circumstances etc.

    Tyson prime: early twenties.

    BHop prime: late thirties

Prime in what way? Physical prime? Seems everyone here has a different criteria or definition of prime. Physical prime is the only 'prime' recognized in actual sports. So...we're looking at approx 26-32 i'd say.

    Some good answers here.

Sometimething I've been thinking over, a lot of guys act like they are going to age like Bernard Hopkins and have time on their side. Few do.
