    In 4 fights, on 3 different continents, I won, successfully defended, lost and failed to regain my world title...
    all in the same calendar year!

    No - Perkins never had more than 2 title fights in the same year.

    We're talking about a post-WWII boxer, who won and defended his world title against the same man...
    after which he lost it and tried to regain it against another.
