I was really impressed by Canelo since he's only 21!!
What does Canelo need to work on in order to improve? He seems pretty well-rounded. What type of style would give him trouble, and what type of fighters does he do really well against?

Not the fastest out there, not got the best footwork, ginger, fights in bursts.

He'll look bad against pure boxers that move really well.

He could improve his footwork, and he always seems a little too squared up to opponents.

He will look good against punchers, brawlers.

Too easy to hit and at the top level I dont think he will last too long , tops out at 25 , 26.

What most of the Mexican fighters lack- a good jab, good defense, big KO power.

Insert the usual glass jaw comments.

  12. Can't believe the Gingercunts are calling Canelo a Top 10 P4Per because he beat down a Mosley who had ZERO SNAP in his punches from the sound of the opening bell. Delusional MexiCAN fans.

    low workrate
    poor footwork
    poor headmovement - defence
    inconsistent jab

Personally I still think he is trying find his identity as a fighter (what style to go into),

He's got a little Arthur Abraham in him, and that scares me. Fights when he feels like it and can give rounds away.

He's kind of lead-footed and I'm not sure he can cut the ring off against a slick boxer.

His jab is not very consistent, though it has pop.

Head movement and general defensive reflexes leave a lot to be desired.

All criticism aside, he has great power, accuracy, combination punching and a willingness to scrap. A great prospect.
