You didnt really just say Wlad was as fast as Chambers, did you? Like I am okay with saying he will stop Chambers (Im going with Wlad by TKO as well)...but be ****ing real man. Wlad is slow...Chambers has very fast hands. One thing I do have to say is...Wlad has never fought a fighter like Eddy. Skilled, fast, smart, great defense, etc (Id say Byrd, but Chris was past it and didnt fight "smart" at all that night). If Chambers comes in in great shape like he did for this one, look for it to be a tough night.
He's a disaster for the Klitschko's. Lapses in concentration and fall into his opponents rythym. As close to zero chance versus Wlad as it is possible to have.
I agree with you that Wlad's speed has been consistantly overated and he's slowed down too. But he does snap out straight punches well which is the source of the confusion.
Im not sure but if I remember right Chef might say Wlad sparred with Eddie and Wlad beated him from a pillar in to post. Of course it does not mean that much but still if it is something to think about If I remember right of course.
I disagree. His foot movement and handspeed for a man his size is amazing. Even Watt and Darke were raving about it and they have been his biggest critics. [yt]oqIDl-_5HZY[/yt] You can call him basic but when he delivers his 1-2, Wlad delivers it with power, speed and technique. He may not look comfortable with pressure but when he gets set, his punches are devastating. What did you think of his footwork against Chagaev?
Don't hype him too much after a win against a Dimitrenko with a bad/ or no gameplan who paniced after realising that this guy was no bum
He fires most of them out across the shortest possible distance, yeah, direct, but also he oftentimes "deploys" his left before snapping the jab across a shorter distance, so the punch has two parts, the second of which seems very fast if you're not paying proper attention to the first. It's very interesting technique. Part sell, part shortcut, but it definitely works for him...strictly speaking I do consider it a flaw. Be interesting to see if anyone can ever take advantage.
Chambers reminds me of Byrd alot, which is a great compliment. Dimi isn't no push over and Chambers was just to fast and elusive for him to hit and was fast. Styles makes fights and this reminds me of Byrd vs Tua. Speed was the difference in both cases. Dimi isn't finished he'll be back, personally I think he woudl give Wlad more trouble than Chambers would/will.
so what do you feel is the best way to counter that pawing left...i would imagine duck under and deliver an uppercut or body shot But I think he's so tall, defensive and quick on his feet, that would still be a difficult proposition. And if you get close to him, he'll hold on to you like your his date. :smoke
chambers might give Klitschko trouble but will not win he is a crusier weight and will always have trouble look at gomez he was a world class crusier weight went up to heavyweight had some good wins but never won a title and should have stayed where is was chamber weight for this fight was 208 he could make 200 and win a world title i dont see him winning a title at heavyweight
I don't think pawing is the right word pal! The best punches to counter this shot IMO are ugly ones. Wide lefts over the top or chopping "uppercutty" punches taking the inside step, or wider rights over the top if taking the step outside. Following up on these is the ***** because you sacrifice balance. Fight the awkward fighter with awkwardness. He's increidbly hard to outpoint.
Thanks for the insight McGrain :hi: That does make sense since Peter had some success with some of those wild haymakers.
