Just watched and Judged the fight. Had it 116-110 for chambers, My impression. Chambers was fairly consistant throughout the fight, Dimitrenko not so much. The Chambers didn't "destroy" Dimi. It proalby should have been 116-111 though, that shot to the kidney was clearly in his back and shoudln't have been counted, but you can't blame the ref, he dind't see it. As I said yesterday, Dimi has a prob with being open to uppercuts when he's in close and it showed today. Also he fails to protect himself after an exchange when turning, Chambers got him good a few time like that. What I did see that leads me to be believe that Chambers would not do good against Wlad is when Dimi started throwing jabs with intent in the 5th, Chambers was easily hit. Also in the 8th Chambers showboating wasn't smart as he kept getting hit with good hits, Wlad might KO him if he does that. Overall decent fight to watch, Chambers showed he's pretty sound and Dimi showed he can take a hit, but is still rough around the edges, if he can tighten up his Defense he could be a major player.
Vlad will knock Povetkin out before he fights Chambers. Povetkin beat Chambers and is not is the same class as Vlad or Vitali. Vlad will fight Chambers like he did Byrd, Vlad has no problem with speed.
:good His reflexes are enough to give them a very hard time landing anything clean. But Eddie will need to do more in the head movement department. Wlad is a guy who can punch through your gloves...
I love watching Eddie for the defense, and I'll tell you what, it seems to me his power is underrated. He may not take guys out, but he gets their repsect. But the man should be a crusierweight, and that his the bottm line. When Wlad takes his head off, he should pull an Orlin Norris, drop down, win a cruiser title, build prestige, and wait out the brothers Klit. Come back to heavy when someone like Povetkin or Boystsov is champ.
I've been saying Eddie's the best US heavy for awhile so it's good to see him get some props for delivering another good win, which should give him a well-earned spot in the top 5 range. I wouldn't give him any chance against Klitschko though. I would've preferred he go after Valuev, but the WBA cluster**** probably made that route impossible.
Dimitrenko was exposed yesterday for lack of sharpness and momentum... He's as tall as Klitschko but his jab has no authority whatsoever and, thus, Eddie Chambers penetrated when he wanted with well placed, well timed, well weighted punches in between Dimitrenko's long, lazy and slow arms, making his gumshield fly, pushing him back to the ropes, knocking him down, hitting his solar plexus painfully, pretty much everything... I doubt he would do to Klitschko.
He got a better chance than those who have fought him recently. His defense is good enoguh to go to distance. It all depends on how well he deals with Wlad's jab, If ha can lean not block it and the counter he can do good
I think Eddie has a good chance to beat Wlad, Eddie just needs to fight someone with a good jab like Kevin Johnson.
