What are Fury’s weaknesses

It’s more of an acquired skill rather than pure athleticism. Vitali Klitschko had very effective lateral movement and he was much slower than Fury. I think these gradual changes in Fury’s style is his trainer trying to convert him into a typical Kronk boxer-puncher/clincher.

Joyce has a better chance than Usyk. Joyce has the chin to eat Fury’s best and could possibly land something to hurt him. Usyk is going to get mauled, it’ll be a stinker of a fight but Fury will win on points. Jab, jab, hug…rinse and repeat.

 

Fury can eat six pies and wash them down with a pint in the time it takes Joyce to throw a punch. If Wilder, who despite all his shortcomings, still had an atomic right hand, couldnt keep Fury down, then Joyce's chances are nil.

 

Fury's main weakness is motivation. He did well against Klitschko because he saw him as a threat and trained hard. He did well against Wilder because he saw him as a threat and trained hard. When he fights nobodies like Wallin, say, he looks bad because he couldn't be bothered.

Second to motivation is his love of a party and the nosh. It's clear he likes his grub and fair enough, but, he's got a trade and needs to be serious about it. The more weight he packs on the slower and less mobile he is, and that's a problem because his main strengths are that he moves so well for a 6'8 guy.

His main boxing flaw is his low output. Normally it doesnt matter because he manages to keep the other guy to a low output as well. But he may come unstuck against a faster, busier guy that likes to use angles and avoid the clinch. His second boxing flaw is that he doesnt really have optimal technique to generate big power. His size means that his punches will always be felt but I don't think he's ever going to be a one shot stopper kind of guy.

 

He can be caught off guard from a quick fighter, it's how Cunningham and Wilder knocked him down. Maybe a body attack is the way to go at him.

 

I would push back a little on the idea of "whst has he done at heavyweight?", as prior to beating AJ who, regardless of how people feel about him, is clearly one of the top guys in the division, he had done nothing at heavy to suggest he would beat AJ, having only beaten Chazz Witherspoon and Chisora, who he didn't look amazing against although I feel he won it comfortably

Like a lot of people I feel either Usyk or potentially Joyce will be the one to beat Fury if anybody does. Fury switched off against wilder, went down and got up again, if Wilder isn't switching his lights out, nobody is HOWEVER
Joyce has the big punch to hurt Fury and the engine and chin to confidently follow up. Usyk could outpoint Fury and Joyce could stop him... I don't think either of those things happens but it wouldn't surprise me

 

Joyce is too slow for Fury. He may have power, but he’s still just another slugger.

 

Fury will beat Usyk and then you all will talk about how he should have beat him more because he was so much bigger. You'll talk about the cement in Fury's gloves and how Usyk was suffering from a Covid variant before the fight and the war in Ukraine distracted him before the fight. You Usyk nut huggers are a riot.

 

What would Fury look like in 5 years? Bald, 300+ pounds with a pack of 6 pack of hot dogs on his neck and man boobs?

He does seem to have the timing though, and the engine could mean trouble for Fury but I don't think it happens, probably a scrappy UD for Fury... Interesting to see what the come forward kronk Fury looks like against a guy like Joyce either way
