oh the "I love Ricky but sadly hes going to get splattered" poll? save me the hassle of posting a link.

I know there are many who like Ricky Burns here, from all nationalities. HOWEVER.

Ricky doesnt get nearly enough credit here when hes been written off, I would like a thread with those 140+ guys who picked Kat KO apologising & giving Burns his due credit. Then maybe I will believe, not that half arsed poll full of people pretending that they were cheering Burns to victory whilst predicting Katsidis brutal KO cos a young Burns lost to Johanneson(or however you spell that damn name)

No, the 'Who do you want to win' poll. Ricky got well over 50% of the vote, as much as you hate to see it. Sorry if that doesn't fit your 'JOCK HATERS!!!' agenda.

I'll be supporting John Murray next week against Rios, but I'm predicting Rios to stop him. What's wrong with that? It's YOU who lets your heart rule your head.

Always liked ricky burns, i did think he would struggle with kats but he showed he is better than alot of people think.
He needs to step up now and go for some of the real big fights, martinez and kats were good but in beating them he has shown he can maybe mix it up at a higher level still.

    Exception from the rule.

I know, he's a nasty piece of work that John Murray. I heard that once he said some naughty things about Ricky Burns when trying to promote a fight with him... :verysad

Ricky looks after himself properly and has shown improvement, I dont think it's a stretch to say Burns will get better in 2012 as a fighter and at 28 is around his peak.

However he shouldn't jump in at the deepend at Lightweight straight away IMO, I'd suggest a big British fight with Mitchell could net decent money and would give a good indication of how strong Ricky is at the weight and take it from there.

Could be "another great year for Ricky Burns" :good

I don't think Burns will ever be the number one lightweight in the world with marquez and Guererro and possibly Rios but i think he's up there and he may even pick up another world title or two

i can definitely see him being number 1, i dont think JMM and Guerrero will fight there again tbh, maybe JMM once more, Rios no more than twice more, and Demarco is beatable for the WBC belt, who else is there?

There's a good chance all 3 of those won't be at 135 for much longer.
