what are people's opinions on the ring magazine?

Yeah, that's why they were the last major media outlet to put American Floyd Mayweather ahead of Filipino Manny Pacquiao on their P4P rankings.

 

I've got an online subscription. It's still got the best written articles on boxing of any of the newstand magazines, the ratings are and always have been American-centric but it is an American magazine so it's hard to be suprised about it. I still think the divisional top 10's are better than anyone elses, the p4p ratings are pretty stupid. As for the revision of the title policy, on one hand that they were very exclusive helped set the Rings belt apart, on the other hand they have had the championship policy for 10 years and people aren't fighting for them, never were more than 8 filled, still I don't think anyones won one yet who was undeserving, it just gives them more leeway to make a title fight, 4 vs 5 doesn't automatically get a belt nowadays.

 

articles aren't bad, ranking criteria are becoming a joke (how can you
break your own rules for rankings)

 

It sucks, deal with it! Also Pacquiao > Any version of De la hoya.

 

I've been a subscriber for ever and I'm not sure I like it the way I used too. Also the "card girl of the month" feature is not on. Now listen I appreciate a beautiful woman like the next man, but I don't expect to open up the "Bible of Boxing and have a pair of tits in my face. Other than the Klits that is!

 

stopped getting it when they decided canelo/lopez was a bigger match then martinez/chavez, still get boxing news

 

i got it for a short period about seven years ago but just couldn't take it seriously because it seemed like it was written by surfer dudes who continuously talked like ****ing children. it was beyond dumbing down. horrible.

i'm a boxing monthly guy myself.

 

that's what i've just basically said. i wouldn't want to know the quality of it now days.
