The reason I put Margarito first is that he dominated a top ranked fighter that was a legit(or supposedly, now I'm not sure what Plasterfists actual record should be) from the moment the fight happened to the knockout. No time during that fight was he ever remotely being challenged. Sorta like Mayweather-Gatti.
that was a good win but nothing tops the oscar win, he was a lightweight that jumped up and not outboxed but outfought the man of the division, he out hustled, out punched and beat up de la hoya who was in his prime! fighters of the 90's weren't scared of challenges.
The fight that never gets talked about was his underrated win against Collazo. That was after Collazo's controversial loss to Hatton and before his controversial loss to Berto. Mosley clearly beat a southpaw who gives everybody else trouble.
The DLH fight at 147 was his best performance and an excellent fight. Ppl thought he'd be too small since he had just two prior bouts at WW and DLH had ten, but Shane actually outweighed DLH unofficially on fight night. Mosley's most fun title defense at lw to watch was Johnson. Awesome body attack
The Collazo fight ranks all factors in. Great performance for Mosley. People were wondering if he wasn't already rusted at that point and he blazed that fight. Razor sharp timing, beautiful counter punches, jaw dropping body work. One of my favorite Mosley fights for sure.
Not sure I agree, Collazo wins the first 3 rounds , then breaks a bone in his left hand , then proceeds to lose the next 9 with a knockdown on the way. I am not saying it was the absolute winning factor , but the breakage was a major factor in Collazo not winning.
