What are some examples of physically weak fighters who were big punchers?

I suspect Alex is much stronger than most suspect. To me, he looks more wiry than skinny.

Fitz looked weak he had skinny legs receding hair line since he was probably 10 but his power is unquestionable. I think Jeffries mentioned that Fitz wasn't very physically strong something like he not nearly as strong as Sharkey.

In a sense boxers compared to wrestlers or weightlifters always look weaker, they just posses a different type of strength which is just hard to qualify, its explosive but it is also more in some ways.

Most of the examples being given out here are terrible....
.....not at all answering the thread question, which is looking for "physically weak" fighters, no phsically weak looking fighters.....

There was nothing weak about Alexis Arguello for example.......Alexis was a physically strong fighter who held his own on the inside and ripped hooks and uppercuts from that stance to great effect.......

Thomas Hearns as a welterweight did have weak legs, and even above that weight could be pushed back rather handily by naturally bigger fighters like Iran Barkley.
I would'nt necesarily call him physically weak, especially at above welter, because it took the very strongest of fighters to be able to drive him back and manhandle him physically.

Mark Breland is more what the thread topic was asking for.....my goodness, the man was skinny from head to toe.....straight up skinny like a broom stick all the way around.
No question, Breland was both skinny and physically weak, but could deliver a shot with the pop to badly hurt a fighter or stop him with a single shot.

The 'Match Stick Man' was who I immediately thought of.

11 KO's in 28 fights is not a dramatic percentage but when you look at the guys build, you'd doubt he could KO anyone. Huge heart and great talent...beat some big names along the way...but very sad ending.

Hearns was an interesting one. Lean body with skinny legs. But his long arms were well muscled. Reckon he could have lifted weights - sure he did. Wouldn't have called him weak (perhaps long distance on a telephone).

Many of the guys mentioned on this thread may not have looked like they could punch at all, but you'd think twice about givin' 'em a free shot a your chops.

Only two bangers were either so consumptive looking or lacking in muscle and sinew that the threat of a KO was non-existent, Johnny Owen and Tommy Collins.

Danny Lopez would hit people with a straight right that looked powderpuff.....then they'd get up five inutes later!

The fact that he went down all the time as well makes him a strong candidate.

I think it's wrong to say that a guy like Hearns was "physically weak". Look at how muscled up Hearn's frame was and how big he was. His problem was his stamina and the fact that his chin wasn't exactly first class. These two factors are to blame for him seeming to be "weak".
