What are some fights where a fighter has lost every round then won by KO?

Chavez might have won rounds 11 and 12, but he lost at least the first 8 by a good margin if not the first 10. It wasn't an epic back and forth. It was as one sided as it gets. Taylor landed 457 punches to Chavez 258. Chavez was so lucky that Richard Steel called the fight off with two seconds to go. One of the worst calls in history. Right up there with Tony Weeks calling Kovalev knocked out when Ward low blowed him.

 

Yeah, I went back and checked it. The judges scorecards all read 106-102 Taylor at the stoppage but the last couple of rounds were all Carl Froch. He needed the knockout to win, but it wasn't as bad as some of these cases. Whoever said Klitschko vs Brewster 1 hit the nail on the head. Klitschko punched himself out, landed 199 to 70.

I was pulling for Taylor, but he was out on his feet and his corner stepped on the ring apron. Steele was within rights to stop that fight. if that was round 11 instead of 12, nobody would be complaining.

As far as scoring, it's been a while since I watched it, but I remember thinking Taylor had won the first half of the fight, spent a ton of energy doing it, and Chavez was landing power shots galore the second half. Taylor was up on the cards, but not by a huge margin.

 

Has anyone mentioned Martinez vs Chavez?

 

And to make it even better he did exactly the same in the rematch.

 

HBO gave Brewster the 3rd round. Wlad took some hard shots to the head and body from Brewster in that round. Another few hits would finish Wlad off in the 5th.

 

He made the count. He was standing. What's more, there were two seconds left and not enough time for another punch to be thrown, so he was in no danger of anything besides winning. If it had happened a round earlier he would have been in for three more minutes of punishment, but he wasn't. Steel called the fight off when it was already over. He was down 108-101 and 107-102 on two of the judges score cards. Even with the knockdown, Chavez couldn't win. Steel straight robbed Taylor. It was literally the only way Taylor could lose. Terrible decision.

 

Richard Steel was one of the referees that I hate the most. He made many mistakes. Tyson vs Ruddock was another fight that Steel made a big mistake.

 

Brook ate tons of jabs in that fight and proved he had a hell of a chin.
