I have been taking boxing lessons for a couple of years and there is an amateur boxer who I have watched develop, he takes boxing very seriously and I think, seeing the amount of time he spends training, he will end up going pro.

He helped me out a little bit with my boxing over the last few months and I'd like to give him a gift. A book. Any recommendations and reasons behind it?

now remember this guy is an amateur boxer with 5-6 fights under his belt.

What kind of book are you looking for? An instruction, training? Or are you looking for a general read for boxing?

I just read "Boxing: A Concise History of the Sweet Science" and really enjoyed it.
