What are some of the underhanded/exploitative/infuriating things that PRIDE did?

Or was PRIDE nothing but 100% fair, honest, generous and great for MMA?

What should PRIDE have done to make a better product and to fuel the growth of MMA?

What things did they do that made you go :patsch or :-( or :fire?

In short, was their disappearance in part due to their own choices, and was there anything they could have done better in order to stop their fall?

    Discuss. :think

So who shut them down, and why? Organized crime syndicates don't tend to just give up profitable ventures, you know.

And what are these rumours of fixed fights?

And what about the champions in non-title fights? How prevalent was that? I'm not an expert, I want to learn, and the way you learn is by asking questions.

as far as non-title fights.....they would just have champs in non-title fights....like i think big nog was the HW champ...slated to fight fedor for the title, but had two fights before that....title not on the line

as far as the fight fixing....yakuza....hard to get all the info but you can read bits and pieces:

    http://fcfighter.com/post/amidst-allegations-of-organized-crime-tiespride-keeps-pay-per-view-for-now

and if you search "pride fixed fights" or things like that you can find some things....but i am sure there is a lot more in japanese, which sucks for me...

as far as who shut them down:

again, messy...i know the ufc bought what was left of them then kinda shut them down...but i think they were a mess at that point...i'm sure someone has better info than me on that one

    Will read.

I'm a bit suprised though, I've read hundreds of scurla's posts about PRIDE, and I don't recall any of this being mentioned.
