What are some of the underhanded/exploitative/infuriating things that PRIDE did?

    I'd struggle to name a champion they protected in terms of opponents faced. I mean FFS they fed Sakuraba to Wanderlei. Their champions had goofy matches but that isn't the same thing.

    I don't see the point to this thread, other than to crap all over Pride,

    Was there fixed fights? Yes.

    Mismatches? Yes.

    But was it great to watch overall? HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The UFC is rumored to have had some fixed tourney fights pre-Zuffa.

    I just find the double standards amusing.

    I mean, imagine what would happen if we found out that Machida's contract paid him more if he lost to Jones than it did if he beat him.

    Or if the Mafia was sitting at the table with Dana and Overeem during the contract negotiations.

    Or if Shogun and Henderson were abandoned in the dressing room and had to make their own way to the hospital after their fight and pay for their own treatment.

    Or if Anderson vs Okami was a non-title bout.

    Or if the promotion of black fighters was openly racist.

    Or if the judging was controlled by the UFC and openly racist.

    Or if some of the fights had predetermined outcomes.


    Many posters talk so much **** on the UFC as it is, when they are growing the sport to new levels of depth, athletic legitimacy and popularity.

    IMAGINE what would happen if ANY of this **** was going on. The Zuffa haters would be going INSANE. :lol:
