Ukraine for example don't have hardly any pro boxing shows/no big promoters. So unless you get a deal with a big promoter in the USA and are willing to move there, you cannot go pro unless you wanna fight for peanuts and fight once every 2 years.

Despite Ukraine producing fantastic boxers. There is more pro opportunities/money/facilities even in South Africa than there is Ukraine. Hence why Sirenko and a few other Ukrainian boxers moved to South Africa.

 

It's hard to make money in boxing as a manager. Many of the top amateur talents do not live in paces where boxing is shown, and have a tough time getting fights.

 

sometimes I think it has to do with the training. I liked Lou Duva, but I think some of those 1984 Olympians could have done better with someone else. Biggs. Breland etc.. Pernell would have been great with anyone. Some guys just don't have the power to deal with the rougher professional aspect.
