I can remember when they have measured me with my sneakers on for an amateur championship. claimed size / real size Me: 185cm / 182cm T. Fury: 206cm / 202cm Wilder: 201cm / 199cm Joshua: 198cm/ 197cm Ruiz Jr.: 188cm /183cm Parker: 193cm / 190cm Price: 203cm / 203cm Joyce: 198cm / 197cm Dubois: 196cm / 194cm Canelo: 173cm / 171cm Babic: 185cm / 185cm W. Klitschko: 198cm / 196cm Haye: 191cm / 188cm Ali: 191cm / 189cm Eubank: 178cm / 178cm Sugar Ray Leonard: 175cm / 175cm Khan: 174cm / 173cm Valuev: 213cm / 211cm
The issue comes from tolerances when measuring and converting between metric/imperial systems, also the promotion hamming it up. Hopefully one day they announce Fury as 7'
Never understand why Fury keeps with the 6'9 thing He has admitted to being 6'7 when wallin disputed him being 6'9 He is likely over 6'7 by a little margin but he is shorter than the 6'8 Price who I believe is legit about his height
Good post; thanks. I don't know if that's the case in boxing, but NBA basketball players measure themselves in sports shoes to make an official version of their height. Of course, every man is taller in the morning when he gets out of bed than in the evening. And the taller a person is, the bigger the morning/evening difference.
The morning vs. night height thing's a valid point, and it gets more valid with each passing year. When I was young I believe I was about 6 feet 7 inches. Now, in the morning, I'm about 6 feet 6 inches. My wife's about 5 feet 10 inches. By nightfall, I'm walking around so stooped over that, if I encounter her, I'm sometimes looking up at her until I straighten my act up some. So I'm about 6 feet 6 inches in the mornings, and 5 feet 6 inches at night. It's tough getting old, not for weak people.
It doesn't really matter after you're legit 6'4 or 6'5, you might as well be 7 foot compared to the average person
