Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had a battle there in the last election for votes.I think they are American if they can decide who our President will be.

    They fight in our military.

    They need no passport.

They have no Puerto Rican president.Their President is whoever the President of the United States is.The same goes for Texas.

Puerto Ricans may operate as a block in boxing, but thats not unheard of.Mexicans do it as well,no matter what side of the border they were born on.If Africa was on the US border then you betcha the same would be true there.Ali is incredibly popular in Africa,as an African. This sort of unity isn't new.Especially in combat....Afr-Am's fought for Ethiopia in a real war.Strictly for ethnicity and pride.

As far as the Olympics go.Not new either.Firstly, they mostly send boxers and boxers are the only PR's to win for PR in the Olympics. The best outing being a silver in'84.Secondly,Hong Kong is definitely part of China, yet Hong Kong has it's own Olympic Team. It's not unheard of for a small territory to have it's own Olympic team, especially when the rest of a country is huge in comparison.

Puerto Rico is not a state but neither is Washington DC.

Puerto Rico is part of the US.End of story.

Yes it does. They cannot vote in the General though.Republicans don't want it because it's two million votes for Democrats.

They still vote in primaries. And Hillary and Barack had it out down there. It was good TV if you're into that kinda stuff.(I am)

    Puerto Rico,USA...........All Day!!!!

I think Margarito-Cotto sold in the mid 400s.

Puerto Ricans are Americans citizens but in regards to boxing and PPV sales this is different, let's not get too technical. Cotto speaks minimal english which makes it harder to promote himself to many fans in the mainland US. He's much more popular in Puerto Rico than in the mainland US. Margarito was born in the US but it'd be misleading to call Margarito-Cotto an all-American boxing matchup, both fighters live in places outside of the mainland US.

Puerto Rico is part of the US. They use US currency, serve in the US Armed Forces, travel freely to the US without a passport or Visa, have US Presidential Primaries, and have non-voting delegate in US Congress. They are part of the US end of story. Just because they are allowed to compete in the Olympics under their territorial banner doesn't mean jack ****, England is still part of the UK and its allowed to compete in the WC under its own banner.

Who cares if Cotto is from the mainland or not. They questioned the presidents Americaness because he was born off of the mainland.Plus there are more Ricans on the mainland than on he island and they support their fighters with great passion.

Hard to say there is no built in fanfare for PR's.There were way more PR's at the Cotto/Foreman fight than anyone else.

  9. Ugh. Puerto Rico is NOT part of the US. It is owned by the US. The legal definition of their specific type of relationship with the country explicitly defines them as NOT being a part of the United States.

They do NOT pay Federal taxes. They can NOT vote in the general election.

They have their own Olympic and World Cup teams. They have their own representatives in international competitions outside of sports, e.g. Miss Universe.

Since you bring up the UK - would you consider Canadians as being from the UK? Their head of state is Queen Elizabeth.

You Crax are a lemonhead. Not only is PR a part of the US,but so is part of Cuba.

Look,I hate empires and don't like the idea of my country as an empire, but PR is part of the US just like Alaska and Hawaii. The difference being nobody really wants to go any farther with the political union, mostly because we love our flag the way it is just fine and PR's like the situation just fine as do most all Americans.PR's enjoy more American rights than a black man did 50 years ago. Also, currently they enjoy more rights than the residents of Washington DC.

Same military,Same money,Same passport,Same President=Same country.Cotto is fully American, especially once on the mainland where voting in the general is as simple as registering to vote and that's it.So yes they can vote in generals too when on the mainland.

Puerto Rico is a country, but not a sovereign nation.

There, now just make distinctions from American PRs (New York, etc) and Puerto Ricans and move the **** on.

This is funny as pac. Notice what all the lil twats haging on the lil technicaility that PR is part of US have in common, all *****'s. Agenda much?

They will say being American isnt an advantage when it comes to selling US PPV's, yet tell me the top 10 PPV attractions and you'll find they are all americans.
