My nephew is 13 and wants to train in boxing, so I thought that I would find out some Youtube channels that are good for explaining the basics/advanced basics. His mum is a bit concerned about sending him to a boxing gym, and I'm not an expert, otherwise I would help him with technique.

Are there any channels on youtube he could look at?

It's not YouTube but you should check out Boxing With Adolfo.
Seen many good reviews and enjoyed watching myself.

Kenny Weldon, Don Familton, My boxing coach has a good channel.
Best option would send him to a boxing gym.

Learning boxing from any form of media will lead to bad habits

of course, because he will never be able to tell you when your doing wrong when you think your only doing right.

but it is useful to watch.

Expertboxing's channel on Youtube provides some solid basics. Well explained too.

But heed the warnings, self learners often teach themselves bad habits that don't get corrected until they step into a real gym. And in time, they become harder to correct.
So, youtube is not a bad place to learn basics, but any tangible progress will come from a gym.

    Good luck!
