For example... Myth: A champion deserves an easy payday after they win the belt. This is such bullsh!t. A champion doesn't deserve easy paydays. When you're champ, defending your belt isn't a right; it's an obligation. And that obligation dictates that you have to defend it against the best available competition that you can find.
That is talk of a fan... A promoters job should be to make the most money for the minimum risk to his fighter. That means fighters will have a few easy (well as easy as boxing gets) paydays.
This thread again???? I thought we saw it last month. But what the hell... MYTH: "A fighter is only as good as his last fight"
myth : audley harrison was/is a contender Who on Earth, apart from Audley and Superheavyweight said that? - a number of years back you couldnt turn round but to hear of him on his way to a heavywight title, touted as the next big thing, got a contract from bbc television for a million i think it was to show his fights look where he is today boxing myth
In reality the old champion keeps the belt(s) and a new one is awarded to the new champion in the following weeks.
Modern fighters are better than old school fighters because they are modern. Old-school fighters are better than modern fighters because they are old school. Both of these myths wind me up.
