I think a lot will depend on what happens tomorrow night and over Canelo's next fight or two. If Canelo wins tomorrow in convincing fashion and continues to win, this fight won't happen. That's not really a diss on Mayweather. I just know he thinks very very carefully about who he steps in the ring with. Given Canelo's size and skills, this is one of the riskiest fights out there for Floyd at the moment, apart from Sergio, and at his age and being so close to retiring with his 0, I don't think he wants any of it and that's understandable to a point. We'll learn a lot about the kid tomorrow night and in turn, about the prospects of a future fight between these two.

I don't anticipate Floyd will fight either Trout or Alvarez in this last run.
(Unless he suffers a loss somewhere first)

It definately wont happen if he loses to Trout.

He won't fight him at any point in his career.

Canelo is too dangerous. Mayweather makes too much money for him to be put in with guys that can beat him.

Mayweather creates hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue for Vegas and networks, and is too valuable to lose.

He will be carefully matched for his remaining future.

I'm sure Showtime is hoping that Garcia gets passed Judah, and then Mayweather will fight Garcia next.

Think about it like this. Mayweather loses, how is that good for the networks and for Vegas?

If Canelo loses, how is that good for the networks and for Vegas?

    It won't happen.

    Boxing is a business.

I'm confident Floyd will fight Canelo even if he wins. Other than size, I don't think Floyd sees anything in him which is of concern stylistically. The only thing that'll thrown a spanner in the works is the unlikely event that he has a difficult fight with Guerrero.

AMazing the way the consensus has turned around on Canelo on this site recently.

6 months ago, people thought he was just hype and hadnt beaten anyone.

Now people are saying Floyds ducking him.

Saturday will tell a lot about Canelo

I dont think this fight will ever happen. Cotto showed Mayweather his limits. Its too much risk for Floyd at 154. I also think Guerrero will show Mayweather his limits even more so. Itll be tougher than.the Cotto fight and will wear on Floyds body. He'll know for sure to stay at 147. Only way i see Mayweather and Canelo ever fighting.is if Mayweather loses his 0 and decides to take more risks. But the Showtime.guarentee.might have ruined any chances Floyd takes on big risks.like Canelo or Trout etc.

Size means a lot, especially when the guy knows how to use his size, he's young, and he has some skills and relatively heavy hands.

This is especially true when you're an older boxer that doesn't move like he used to.

This fight will never happen. The only way it does happen is if Alvarez starts looking like pure ****, and has a very very short prime, but that is unlikely considering his young age.

I mean, it could happen, but it is unlikely he will fade during Floyd's mega star career.

There is no reason for this fight to happen from a business perspective.

Both guys can make money on their own. A loss could be detrimental to their earning ability.

    It's not worth the risk.

Mayweather and his team are not stupid.

They will fight Garcia next. It is the most logical choice. I can't blame him for it.

Garcia only has a puncher's chance against Mayweather.

Floyd's not fighting him now. Why?

    Who asked for Guerrero fight?
