Guerrero has done more to deserve a shot vs Floyd than Canelo has. Guerrero beats an undefeated Aydin, and Berto whom nobody thought he'd beat. Canelo has fought blown up 147 fighters who are shot and way over the hill.

Everything depends on how Floyd looks in his fight. If he doesn't sharp and/or takes a lot of punishment, you could see him take another long layoff, or fight someone like Devon Alexander. If he looks sharp though and doesn't take much punishment well...I'll put it this way, he still hasn't vacated his JMW title and insists he'll be returning in September; which is when Canelo insists he'll return.

Won't happen - Alexander, Khan, Garcia are the 3 most likely - get 140 guys up to welter, Floyd will play it safe as always. Not an insult, it's fact and why he is where he is

Agree - however if Canelo beats Trout though there is no one around who'll deserve the shot more...but he won't get it

I don't particularly see anything sensational about Canelo, but Floyd shouldn't fight him simply because Floyd is slowing down and 154 is not his optimal weight, even when he was at his peak.

In other words, he shouldn't fight him because he is a genuine risk - that's what we're saying, Floyd doesn't fight anyone who he thinks is a genuine risk...

None because Nelo is going to get derailed when Trout beats him this Saturday

They'll have a rematch where Trout wins once more.

Then Nelo will have a recovery type of fight for the first half of next year.

37 y/o Mayweather isn't going to move up in weight for someone like that.

So then if he fights Canelo, then that means he doesn't think Canelo is a genuine risk?

I think Canelo will win, and I think Floyd will fight him. And to be honest if Canelo can corner and walk through Trout (exceeding expectations) then I fear for Floyd's 0.

Anybody who's honestly followed Floyd's career for the past 5 or 6 years knows that the answer is No.

It's just the way it is. There is no point in stressing out over something that simply won't happen.

    Floyd/Canelo would've sold A LOT more PPVs.

    + 300.000 PPVs (?) x $80 = + $24M

    :!:
