Depends on which Taylor we get - if he is back to his best from Ramirez & Prograis, then the chances of a stoppage are much higher. But if he is drained and struggles to make weight / recover from his injury like Catterall then a stoppage is unlikely. I'm predicting a late stoppage though, Lopez does not hit as hard as Ramirez or Prograis, and I think we will see a Taylor looking to prove he is still a force and the Catterall fight was a one-off bad night / clash of styles
I actually think Taylor is finished the effort in becoming undisputed and getting over that line has taken its toll people forget how terrible he was v Catterall
I always favored Teo in this one in the past but since then a lot has transpired with each fighter & they both have looked vulnerable to a few things at time, even then Taylor's slow feet makes me thing he wont be knocking out anybody.
Lopez has looked shaky in his last 3 fights. However Taylor isn’t the hardest hitter so a KO shouldn’t be expected.
The problem with this fight is we don't know which version of either will show up. Taylor will be coming off a 16 month layoff, an unofficial loss in the vast majority of people's eyes, another injury, another switch in trainer which will be his third trainer in his last 5 fights and his first fight with his new one, and I didn't like how he looked in his most recent interview. Teofimo is coming off an unofficial loss in most people's eyes too, which had he not got the decision would've been his second loss in his last three fights, and as Taylor himself said, Teofimo seems ''mentally fragile'' and his behavior in recent years has been strange. And like a lot of these weight bullies whose power isn't effective when they move up and start fighting opponents their own size. He was the hardest puncher down at 135 IMO and obviously that power when you're facing a blown up 126 pounder like Loma will be magnified but how will it be against the likes of Taylor who is a very big 140 pounder now and has been hit on the whiskers by the likes of Rougarou, JCR, Baranchyk? That being said, Commey was an enormous 135 pounder and look what he dd to him. To be fair, that was just a perfectly timed shot he dropped him with and he had everything he could've on it. Stylistically neither of them are anything like the fighters who beat them or who many feel beat them so there's not too much we can take from that. And Taylor is fighting in Teofimo's backyard and if they refuse his request for neutral judges we know there's a high chance he could get robbed over there and find himself on the other side of a controversial decision. He wouldn't have come away with the win against JCR if it wasn't for the KDs because the three home judges (3 home judges for not just a world title fight but for undisputed ) and the home ref arguably robbed him of a inside the distance win with those long counts, one in particular where JCR was badly hurt.
