    Not really my point.
    And might not be true what you said. Say the UFC, you have to fight top ranked opposition to get a title shot.
    How many boxing "champions" do we have who haven´t fought a single top 10 contender? Quite a few to be honest.

    MMA is easier. It's less specialized. A boxer has to be amazing one thing to get to a high level. MMA requires you to be mediocre at a bunch of things. With all the added variables, the skill element is reduced.

    True, but we have seen say wrestlers pick up decent level(MMA standards) of striking in a really short time frame.
    And MMA doesn´t require you to be mediocre at anything. You have to be pretty damn good at pretty much it all. Mediocrity wont cut it at the top.


    And there is nothing easier about MMA. In boxing you get to focus on only one form of fighting. It makes things a lot easier just focusing on striking.
