    ---

    1. Cotto's looking for Antonio Margarito and Oscar de la Hoya. There were also talks of a fight against Joshua Clottey. The Interim champ of his title, a russian boxer, also wants a shot. Cotto does what Arum tell him to do, and Arum wants him to face De la Hoya and Margo.

    2. Mayweather said he's going to rest for some time (9-15 months) and then comeback. However, he said he was going to retire after the Oscar fight and he cameback inmediately. You can't trust Floyd.

If Cotto or his camp talk enough **** they might get the show going in the summer but I doubt we will see this fight before the fall.....there's a good possibility it may happen this time next year if Cotto gets passed his next two fights.

    LOL.

    Whatever you say.

Hatton had a better chance than Cotto because Cotto is too methodical. A methodical boxer under 160 will never beat Floyd. Cotto wont be able to close the gap because his footspeed is nowhere near the level of Hatton's. Cotto would be picked apart from a distance. A Mosley, with one foot in the grave was able to effectively outbox Cotto from a distance when he actually tried to in their bout, so Mayweather would have no problem doing it. Also, keep in mind that while Cotto's handspeed is good, its not as good as Hatton's or Judah's and PBF had no problem handling theirs.

Williams is a much better option than Cotto for some one like yourself who tends to diss Mayweather. Huge reach, 100+ punches a round and a solid chin. Huge stylistic advantages against a fighter like Floyd.

This fight (Cotto-Mayweather) will happen, 100% guaranteed. I really hope that the DLH bout gets signed for May, because it will turn Cotto into a supserstar after he stops De La Hoya, and it could potentially set up another December bout for Floyd, after a 8-9 month vacation. The flip side is that De La Hoya knocks Cotto out, which as a fan of Mayweather, only makes his win over DLH all the more impressive.

I pray that Cotto beats De La Hoya if they fight, otherwise we get Mayweather-De La Hoya II. I don't care much to see that.

Arum and Mayweather can't stand each other so it would be hard to work things out, but I think Arum and Mayweather like money more than they hate each other. Cotto's popularity and exposure greatly increases with a win over DLH. HBO will probably push for it. I think we'd see it in late 08' if Cotto beats DLH (if they fight).

If Cotto wins spectacularly against a big name and then calls out Floyd maybe then it'll happen, but seeing as Cotto has been programmed by Arum never to mention another boxers name i cant see it happening

cotto doesn't come lunging in like hatton, cotto has a good jab, great body puncher, very accurate, he can box and he can brawl, he knows how to fight both inside and outside, he can also fight southpaw.

Yes, he does everything well, but nothing spectacular. Thats not gonna cut it with Floyd. To beat Floyd you need a spectacular chin, spectacular footspeed, spectacular stamina, spectacular handspeed, and a spectacular work rate.

Cotto lacks in the chin, footspeed, stamina and work rate departments.

when was the last time you seen cotto tired?

and also cotto has a high workrate, look at his punch stats he fights for the whole 3 minutes of the round.
