we all know kelly pavlik has what it takes to knockout a fighter but does he have what it takes to knock out bernard hopkins?
pavlik states during the hbo countdown that their camp wants to ko hopkins but is that realistic? all boxing analysts say that it is impossible.
hopkins is very defensive and he likes to counter punch. he clinches and uses the ring effectively.

    anything can happen though.

I'm a huge Hopkins fans but unless the weight really affects Pavlik I think he will stop X in the late rounds. Pavlik throws almost as many punches as Joe and hits alot harder and will constantly walk X down. I really really hope I'm wrong tho.

impossible is not a realistic word in boxing. having said that hopkins is 100% defensive minded, especially these days, so i expect hopkins to constantly circle kelly and try to counter punch every now and then.

this fight will be similar to calzaghe hopkins, only kelly will be wary of getting knocked down/out. i think calzaghe took hopkins too lightly hence why he was knocked down in the first round.

pavlik knows what he is up against. he fought taylor twice so he'll have a good idea what he's going to face quality-wise.

i also expect kelly to have a hard time nailing hopkins for the first 6 rounds. from round 7 onwards kelly will increasingly dominate the fading old man. i think kelly can knock hopkins out, but if it happens it will be by accumilation, and only when hopkin is totally exhusted at the fast young pace pavlik will set.

in another way i can this fight similar to margo - cotto. however unlike that fight i dont expect kelly to get hit as much as tony "homer simpson" margarito! and i also dont think hopkins can fight as long as cotto did before succumbing to pavlik.

either way pavlik wins this fight. UD, TKO, KO or hopkins retires between rounds.

kelly's best chance might be when their clinching, but b-hop will always try to be one step ahead cuz he's already been there. i think both are going to be fully aware of each other's power so they might be a little gunshy at first. i don't think kelly would want to do the same mistakes joe did.

It's possible, but will be a difficult thing to do, Hopkins is hard to hit.

    Pavlik lacks power? :nut

His power might not carry above middleweight but you can't say he lacks power.

vquote=KingChile]Never happening. Pavlic lacks the skill or power.[/quote]Chile, you never post just to "fit in", and I like that. Stand your ground dun. We have a NC smuggler trying to fit in with his pathetic "fit in" opinion:dead :pukke . He knows who he is. Respect to the others. It is possible for Pav to stop Hop, but I don't think it will happen. Hop has the style to beat PAv, but imo he just isn't young enough. I hope the old lion can do it.

You've already proven you have no balls (promising something and then acting like a ****** refering to me indirectly), now you've proven you've got no word too.
I hope this opinion of mine "fits in" well with you.

I think Hops still has enough left to avoid the KO.

He loss the calzaghe and taylor fights based on low output and loosing rounds. In neither case did he get hit with much flush. I think he can avoid most of Pavlics big shots and use his tricks and fouls to make it to the 12th in a sloppy fight.

He needs to retire though. At 43 he cant hang with the top guys anymore. Its roy-hops II or he should retire.

Decent. I'll post probable provided kelly can encroach without gettin' caught in the grill too hard upon the stalking. B-Hop is extremely accurate.

I wouldn't bet on it. Maybe if Pavlik was able to punch off Bernard's helmet (his lead shoulder) which would leave his face exposed but I've never seen that guy in trouble much less hurt so stoppage would be a long shot imo.

    No bets! :D

I think it could be possible though, you have to consider B-Hop IS 43, and in the fight with brittle-hand Calzaghe he faded greatly in the last rounds. He is one crafty mo-fo, but Pavlik is a pretty dangerous fighter.

BTW nice avatar, people underate Berto very much :good
