What are the classic fights at heavyweight where the swarmer beat the puncher?

I would not call Brewster a swarmer. He would probably been a better fighter had he been. The only time I remember him fighting that way was against Golata. Brewster tried to lay back, and be patient. Then when he thinks he hurts you, or you're tired, he comes to life.

Mike Tyson would have to be called a swarmer. His aggression just subsides as the fight goes on. The way he attacks, with no feeling out process, at the opening bell. I remember hearing someone, who is not even a boxing fan, saying, "Wow. He really swarms all over you. He's really trying to beat the hell out of him."

 

I think you see more examples of it at lower weights because smaller guys punch less hard, or are more durable pound for pound. Big heavyweights can take you out with a few punches, which is why Frazier would never get past Foreman.

 

Fighting Harada both times against Eder Jofre. In their two confrontations, both 15 round decisions for Harada in 1965 and 1966, the swarmer successfully triumphed over the puncher, however, in Jofre's case, make that "boxer/puncher".
